WVEL Weather Update: Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service (NWS) of Lincoln, IL, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire WVEL-AM listening area remains in effect until 12midnight CST.

 

 -Timing: Snow will continue to fall fairly staedy through mid-afternoon. The snow should diminish by late afternoon, but will persist much of the evening.

-Accumulations: Total accumulations through tonight are expected to range from 4"-6" with the heaviest totals north of the WVEL-AM listening area.

-Winds: Northwest winds are expected to gust over 25 mph by late afternoon/early evening. This could cause some patchy blowing snow.

-Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities; use caution while driving.

-Impact: Travel will be difficult today with moderate to heavy snowfall. the patchy blowing snow will also limit visabilities and make driving treacherous. Be careful and give yourself extra time to your destination.
