Local small business owners are encouraged to attend the free workshop held at the Peoria Next Innovation Center, 801 W. Main Street in Peoria, IL from 4:30pm- 6pm on Monday, April 7, 2014.
Mekael Teshome, Assistant Vice-President and Economist for PNC Financial Services Group, will discuss economic forecasts in the area and how they could affect a small business owner. Time will be allowed for questions.
Mekael Teshome is responsible for contributing to PNC's regional, national, and international economic analysis. Teshome focuses on state and metropolitan economies within PNC's core economic footprint as well as industry analysis. He has a Master's Degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and International Studies from Taylor University.
The Minority Business Ad-hoc Committee meets regularly at 4:30pm the second Tuesday of each month in Room 402 of the Peoria County Courthouse, 324 Main Street. However, next week's regularly scheduled meeting is cancelled in lieu of Monday night's workshop. Committee meetings are open to the public. Representatives from minority advocacy groups, local trade unions, institutes of higher education, private business, and the faith-based community join Peoria County board members and staff on the committee.
