According to cinewsnow.com, Ameren announces plans to lower electric, gas rates.

Ameren Illinois has announced plans to file for a rate decrease for its electric services.

Ameren is expected to request about a $14 million decrease in delivery service rates for 2017.

Craig Nelson, senior vice president, Regulatory Affairs and Financial Services for Ameren Illinois said,

“We made a long-term commitment to our customers to strengthen the power grid and deliver cost-saving enhancements and it’s working. When combined with expected lower electric supply costs, our customers will continue to see stable prices for an advanced energy delivery system.”

In addition, Ameren gas customers will be saving on their bills.

The move is expected to save customers about $28 per year.

This move will be the lowest gas supply charge since February 2002.
