Early voting is underway for 18th District Special Election.

Voters who are looking to cast their ballots in the 18th District Special Election can get an early start.

According to cinewsnow.com, early voting began the first Monday in August at the Elections Commission office in downtown Peoria.

Tom Bride of the Peoria Elections Commission says,

“Having an election in July and September is not a traditional time, so people are not thinking about elections. It’s unique in that standpoint and it’s unique that there’s only one thing on the ballot.”

On this week, voters can go to three other locations, ICC North, Alpha Park Library, and the Dunlap Library.

Early voting continues until Wednesday, September 9th; The Special General Election will be held on Thursday, September 10th.
