Earlier this week, the Peoria Chiefs minor league baseball franchise signed a four-year deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The signing of the St. Louis baseball team will be the Chiefs' second stint with the baseball affiliate.
The Peoria Chiefs' first stint with the St. Louis came in 1995 and ended in 2004. During the 9-year stint with the Cardinals baseball organization, the Chiefs went to the Midwest League playoffs four times and earned a Midwest League baseball title in 2002.
