1945- Irwin Molison appointed to Customs Court
1926- “Negro History Week” originated by Carter G.Woodson is observed for the first time; in 1976 it became Black History Month.
1883- James Hubert “Eubie” Blake, pianist, was born in Baltimore, MD.
1872- Alcorn A&M College (now Alcorn State University) opened.
