WVEL Community/Travel Scope: Abingdon Community Festival

It’s that time of the year again, family!!!

We’re celebrating the Northwestern Illinois side as the Abingdon Community Festival will, in a way, wrap up the summer in the little, big town of Abingdon, IL!

The Abingdon Community Festival will be held starting Thursday, August 22nd and ending on Sunday, August 25th, 2019.

FESTIVAL CALENDAR OF EVENTS:

Thursday, August 22nd-
Flowers & Vegetable Judging – 1PM
Arts & Crafts Judging – 1PM
Chicken & Pig Scramble – 6PM
Arm Band Night ~ 6PM-9PM ($18 in advance)

Friday, August 23rd-
Demolition Derby – 7PM**

Saturday, August 24th-
Goat, Sheep, Swine, & Beef Judging – 8AM
John R. Thurman Memorial
Pee-Wee Livestock Show approx. 12PM
Figure “8” – 6PM**

Sunday, August 25th-

Baked Goods Judging – 10AM
Kids’ Events – 12PM
Arm Band Afternoon~ 3PM-6PM ($18 in advance)
Area’s Largest Baked Goods Auction 5:00 P.M.
Presentation of Trophies & Awards – 6:45 P.M.
Livestock Auction – Immediately after Awards
