Newsline: Illinois counties; Half of The Land Of Lincoln counties are either on the poverty watch or warning lists.
This story is according to anti-poverty organization, the Heartland Alliance & WAND-TV.
Last year, 30 counties had poor ratings. This year, that number increased to 52 counties.
The Poverty Watch/Warning List ratings cover things like unemployment, high school graduation rates, and teen births.
The five counties that made the dire warning list are as follows: Wayne, Stephenson, Morgan, Calhoun, and Mason.
The five counties that have the best ratings are: Adams, Clark, Christian, Jasper, Macoupin, Richland, and Scott.
