Two people who dined at Jimmy John’s last month, may be victims of a salmonella outbreak linked to sprouts at Jimmy John’s; this was according to week.com.

Federal, state, and local health officials are investigating a multi-state cluster of Salmonella ser. Montevideo infections.

Two cases have been identified in Illinois residents. The people reported becoming ill on December 20 and 26, 2017, respectively.

Health officials believe the likely cause of the infection is sprouts from multiple Jimmy John’s locations.

Salmonella can include symptoms of headache, muscle aches, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, fever, nausea, and dehydration.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is requesting all Illinois Jimmy John’s locations to remove sprouts from the menu until their investigation is complete.
