Two central Illinois cities rate high on a financial website’s rankings of the best places in the state to bring up a family.
According to wallethub.com & week.com, Washington, IL ranked fourth on the list, and Normal, IL came in seventh place. Other area cities making the top 100 include Morton (16th), Bloomington (51st), Lincoln (63rd), Canton (72nd), Pekin (96th) and East Peoria (97th). Peoria came in (165th).
The top-rated city in the state was Naperville, IL.
WalletHub used 21 different indicators to rank more than 222 cities across the state for their family friendliness, such as median family income and housing affordability.
Among some of the key indicators, Pontiac rated first for housing affordability, and Peoria ranked 5th for the most attractions.
