Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois will cover UnityPoint Health – Methodist in-network starting in January 2018.
This includes its emergency department, cardiovascular services, surgical services, and more.
Debbie Simon, Regional CEO of UnityPoint Health said,
“We are excited for the opportunity to serve the members of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois PPO Network. We believe expanding in-network access to Methodist will help us better coordinate care across our facilities and services, positively impacting the health of the community.”
UnityPoint’s Proctor and Pekin, IL facilities and home care services, are already part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO Network.
OSF announced that all hospitals in Illinois with the exception of Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton will no longer participate in the Blue Cross network after the end of the year.
