A central Illinois lawmaker will be involved in a push to help people find jobs.

According to wandtv.com, State Rep. Sue Scherer (D) is partnering with Workforce Investment Solutions for a job fair on Wednesday, August 23rd; It’s happening from 10am – 2pm at Decatur’s Knights of Columbus Hall.

Events to help people prepare for the same job fair are coming in the next several weeks. They are scheduled for 2pm to 3pm on Tuesday, August 8th and Wednesday, August 16th at Workforce Investment Solutions in Decatur, IL.

Employment specialist Donna Miller said,

“It tells you what to do when you first go up to the booth. You need to introduce yourself. You need a little elevator speech that you can tell what your qualifications are what why you want to be an employee of that company. And I’ll go over things you no not want to do at a job fair as well.”
