The Children’s Hospital of Illinois makes top 30 international list.

The hospital ranks 24th in the world of the most technologically advanced children’s hospitals.

According to topmasterinhealthcare.com & cinewsnow.com, in 2013, the Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center made headlines around the world for completing not only the first bioengineered transplant on a child in the U.S., but also the first bioengineered trachea transplant in the world. This kind of trailblazing, high-tech achievement is characteristic of the innovation going on at CHI, which was listed among the country’s “Most Wired Hospitals” as early as 2000 by Hospitals and Health Networks. The next step? Cardiologists at CHI are already using 3D-printing technology to build a “collaborative heart library” for education and clinical purposes.

Children’s Hospital of Illinois President Sue Wozniak said,

“Being a children’s hospital that has a facility like Jump (Jump Training Center) really does help put us on the map. That’s probably one of the reasons why we’ve achieved that recognition.”

Some of the features the hospital offers are 3D printing, virtual urgent care, and Laproscopic surgery.
