“Get ready for the hippest trip in America as Singer/Songwriter Erykah Badu, will host this year’s Soul Train Music Awards!”
Black Entertainment Television & Centric Network announced that it will honor Jill Scott and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds at this year’s show.
Edmonds will receive the Legend Award, and Scott will accept the first-ever Lady of Soul Award, respectively. Edmonds has won 11 Grammy Awards and written and produced 26 Number 1 R&B hits. His new album, “Return of the Tender Lover,” will be released in early December. Scott is a three-time Grammy winner, critically acclaimed actress, and New York Times best-selling poet.
According to Centric & blackamericaweb.com, they state that,
“Both artists are being recognized for their presence in the industry and their influence on the world of music; past and present.”
Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and Mark Ronson have the most nominations, with five each. Beyonce, Chris Brown, Jidenna, and Tyrese follow with four mentions each.
Soul Train Awards 2015 will be filmed on Friday, November 6th at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV and will air simultaneously on Centric and BET on Sunday, November 29th at 8pm/EST.
