WVEL News Scope: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

If you have expired or unused prescription drugs, they can be safely disposed of on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

 

This Prescription Drug Take Back Day will happen on On Saturday, September 26th, between 10am – 2pm.

Senator David Koehler and the Peoria Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, are hosting an event with the DEA to collect pills, patches, and other solid medications at the Peoria Police Department and the Peoria Heights Police Department.

Liquids, needles, and illegal drugs are prohibited. If you’re unable to participate in Drug Take Back Day, don’t worry; Peoria County residents can dispose of old and unused prescription drugs year-round at the following locations:

-Peoria County Jail, 301 North Maxwell, Peoria

-Peoria County Courthouse, 324 Main St., Peoria

-Bartonville Police Department, 918 S. Adams St., Bartonville

-Chillicothe Police Department, 823 N 2nd St., Chillicothe

-Peoria Police Department, 600 SW Adams St., Peoria

-Peoria Heights Police Department, 1311 E Sciota, Peoria Heights
