The city of Peoria, IL wants to remind the public that cooling centers are always available.

As part of his Keep Cool Illinois campaign, the Governor has made over 120 state facilities available as cooling centers. The cooling centers will provide Illinoisans a place to stay cool and comfortable during hot summer days.

CInewsnow.com and the city of Peoria reminds all residents that when temperatures are 90 degrees or higher, there are a couple of Cooling Centers that you can go to take a break from and beat the heat!

 

The Cooling Centers are as follows:

 

-All Peoria Fire Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week

-The lobby of the Peoria Police Department (also available)

-The Peoria Civic Center (Verizon Cafe located at 201 South West Jefferson Avenue) is open to the public from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday

Department of Human Services cooling centers are open during normal business hours from 8:30am – 5pm, Monday-Friday.
