Because of the temperatures being in the 90-degree range, a heat schedule has prompted Peoria Public Schools to dismiss classes early for the rest of the week.

According to cinewsnow.com, starting today students will be dismissed early depending on their building.

The heat schedule listing for area schools are as follows:

-Middle and high schools dismiss at 1pm

-Primary schools dismiss at 2pm

-Rolling Acres dismiss at 1:15pm

-Franklin, Northmoor, and Roosevelt dismiss at 2:15pm

-Afternoon Pre-K at Valeska Hinton is cancelled Today through Friday

All after school activities at primary and middle schools are also cancelled starting today, with the exception of after-school care and Latchkey programs.

High school teams will continue with “light practice” through 6pm and have regular practices after 6pm.
