IGNITE Peoria is a celebration of creativity that will feature events that will inspire innovation, release artistic vision, and spark the passionate imagination of our community.
IGNITE Peoria began with a spark in 2013, when members of the arts community came together with the idea to host an event that celebrated creativity of all kinds right here in Peoria. On Saturday, August 9th, 2014, ArtsPartners of Central Illinois, The Peoria Civic Center ,and The Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, hosted the first-ever IGNITE Peoria, a celebration of creativity featuring a range of events to inspire innovation, release artistic vision and spark the imagination of the community.
According to all who attended, that mission was accomplished. Far exceeding expectations, the event had a tremendous turnout, bringing more than 6,300 people to downtown Peoria to touch, feel, taste, see and interact with the local arts community. Look for IGNITE Peoria to return bigger and better than ever in 2015!
ALL or NOTHING Car Show-
This invitation-only show, hosted by Darius Donaldson, will feature
cars & bikes that display an artistic, customized element. Creative tutorials on customizing, pinstriping, and drawing will be offered. There will also be new product demonstrations with local businesses highlighted. This is a unique, artistic element of our local arts community and should not be missed!
Creation Stations-
One of the greatest activities at IGNITE is our CREATION STATIONS. Individual artists and organizations give the public a chance to release their own inner artists by trying their hand at various genres of creative expression. All ages will spend hours enjoying the exploration of the world of art – Peoria style! Check back in late July for a list of participating Creation Stations and all the fun activities you can participate in!
Fashion Ignite Peoria-
FASHION IGNITE PEORIA is a FREE, LIVE, public fashion photo shoot extravaganza! Celebrating the wealth of talent our region has to offer in photographers, beauty professionals, fashion designers, fine craft artists, and local boutiques, the event offers an inside look at the exciting world of photography with an art/fashion edge. Not a runway show, something so much more.
You will see how a team of 35+ creative professionals bring their artistic vision to life with professional and non-professional models. Watch it ALL happen, see the pictures on a large screen as they are taken, talk to the creatives, and listen to free educational presentations. Plus, you could win “swag bag” freebies and all to the sounds of a groovy DJ.
Performance Stages-
Peoria is famous for fantastic performances of all kinds! Multiple performance stages will be scattered throughout the venue during IGNITE Peoria. Our IGNITE Performance Stages will be filled with music, dance, drama – and so much more! It promises to be a day of entertainment and inspiration!
World Ignites Peoria-
Central Illinois is rich in diverse cultures. The World IGNITES Peoria will feature food, cultural booths and performances representing how Peoria is a true crossroads of the world. A full list of participating organizations and performances will be available soon.
