Fourth of July weekend is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

Experts estimated one in three people plan to hit the road.

According to TripAdvisor and cinewsnow.com, more than a quarter of travelers plan to drive between 100 and 200 miles this weekend.

Drivers are taking advantage of the low gas prices.

Prices are down close to a dollar compared to last 4th of July.

IDOT (Illinois Department Of Transportation) has suspended all non-emergency roadwork over the 4th of July weekend to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.

However, drivers must still obey all posted construction speed limit zones.
