Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department Of Transportation are teaming up to help save lives.
According to cinewsnow.com, car crashes are the number one killer of teenagers.
That's why the groups are planning to bring the first ever "Drive for Tomorrow" safety seminar to the Peoria Civic Center.
High schools from five area counties will be invited.
Kids will participate in demonstrations, simulators, and classes.
State Trooper Ross Green said,
"It's not difficult to change driving behavior, but people need to know why. They need to know the reason why they need to stay off their cell phones and stay buckled up."
The event will be April 28th through May 1st.
They are looking for volunteers and business or corporate sponsors for the event. For more information, you can contact Patty Ambrose with Ilinois Department Of Transportation at 217-558-1719 or via e-mail at Patty.Ambrose@illinois.gov.
