The East Peoria Police Department is warning residents of a potential home repair scam involving driveway sealcoating and tree trimming.
According to cinewsnow.com, authorities said that they have received reports that a group of people from the Chicagoland area are soliciting to East Peoria residents.
According to East Peoria Police, their services are often not completed or poorly done. The group also has served as a distraction so others can commit burglaries at the same time. Elderly citizens are among the most targeted.
Those who have elderly family members or neighbors are asked to speak to them about these solicitors and to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
