The presence of exceptional rail facilities has greatly influenced Galesburg's development as a commercial and industrial center in Western Illinois. The city of Galesburg, IL salutes the railroad's contribution during the annual Galesburg Railroad Days celebration that is held every fourth weekend of June.
The 37th Annual event celebrating Galesburg's railroad heritage with a carnival, exhibits, a street fair, railyard tours, 5K & 10K runs, hobby train show, flea market, and much, much more; over 40 events will be taking place at this event and most of them free! The Carnival begins on Thursday evening and opening ceremonies on Friday evening.
The Galesburg Railroad Days will begin on Thursday, June 26th and will continue on until Sunday, June 29th.
Galesburg Railroad Days is governed by a council that meets on a frequent basis year around to plan new and exciting attractions for our annual celebration of our railroad heritage.
