The Labor Day Holiday Weekend is known for barbecues, relaxing, family, fun, and football.  Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer, but it’s the kickoff to the college football season. 

If you are thinking about hitting the road on this weekend, here are a few "food for thought" places that you might want to keep in mind while you make it to your destination.

1) Houston, TX- Labor Day Classic:

The Texas Southern University Maroon & Gray Tigers will face off against the Prairie View A&M University Panthers in the 29th Annual Labor Day Classic taking place this Saturday, August 31st at BBVA Compass Stadium in Downtown Houston, TX.

2) Orlando, FL- MEAC/SWAC Challenge:

The 9th Annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge will have the Florida A&M Rattlers against  the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on Sunday, September 1st at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL. The Rattlers are no stranger to the MEAC/SWAC Challenge or Orlando (losing to Southern University, 33-27) but it will be the Delta Devils first time competing in the annual game; both teams last met in '90 when FAMU won 28-13.

3) Nashville, TN- John Merritt Classic:

"It's Showtime in the Music City!"

The 15th Annual John Merritt Classic will have the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats versus the Tennessee State University Tigers on Sunday Evening, September 1st at the LP Field in Nashville, TN. This will be the Wildcats first appearance in the Classic; the Tigers have a 10-4 Classic record overall.
