Backpack Peoria is an annual event that provides children with backpacks filled with school supplies. This year there will be 3,000 backpacks, plus the first 1,000 students will receive a uniform shirt. In addition to giving away backpacks and uniforms, Dream Center Peoria holds an expo for area agencies and organizations to get involved. The expo gives families an opportunity to explore resources and services in the community. Peoria Public Schools also has a huge presence at the event. School leaders are at the event to meet incoming students and answer any questions regarding the upcoming school year. Families also have the opportunity to get necessary dental and physical exams.

Backpack Peoria will be on this Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 9am-2pm at Dream Center Peoria located at 714 Hamilton Boulevard in Peoria, IL.
