It's that time again; time to check out the 24th Annual Central Illinois Auto Show coming to the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, IL on April 5-7, 2013.
This show rivals auto shows in such markets as Kansas City, MO, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, and Milwaukee, WI. The Auto Show attendance, as previous years, is expected to reach the 40,000 mark. The Peoria Metro New Car Dealers Association’s 33 dealers will be displaying over 300 vehicles from 29 different Manufacturers. You will be able to see the latest and greatest in cars, trucks & SUV’s, all on one level, under one roof. They’re just waiting for you to check them out!
Attention all NASCAR fans! Come and experience the thrills of being a NASCAR racer. You can feel the ultimate NASCAR interactive experience when you strap your seat belt and sit behind an official #38 M&M’s Ford Fusion racing simulate. For the kids, there’s “Toby” a scaled kid car.
New for this year, we have two local football players turned pro along with members of the St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders available on Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, meet Peoria, IL native Sherrick McManis, Special Teams Player for the Chicago Bears. On Saturday afternoon, meet Eureka, IL native Andy Studebaker, Linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs Pro Football Team.
Also, on Saturday only, Miss Illinois will provide a Distracted Driving Address, and members of the St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders will be with us. All celebrities will be available for autographs and photo opportunities.
Be sure to bring the kids and meet your favorite Nickelodeon Characters: SpongeBob SquarePants
and Dora the Explorer, will be available for photo opportunities and to entertain the kids. From the popular Marvel Comics and Movies, Spider-Man and Iron Man will be available on Saturday and Sunday for meet & greet sessions. Be sure to bring your camera!
Want to skip the long lines at the DMV? The Secretary of State will be on hand for drivers’ licenses and ID card renewals, replacements or corrections and to issue vehicle sticker sales. Enjoy the daily magic shows by Rob Thompson, Funny Magic Guy. With his laid back and easy-going style, Rob twists awe-inspiring magic and his witty, yet clean, sense of comedy into a show that will delight any audience. For more family entertainment, there will be stilt walkers, face painters, inflatable bouncer fun, and balloon artists. Absolute excitement for the whole family to enjoy!
In addition to this year's auto show, a CarCode Scavenger Hunt will take place daily with prices including a La-Z-Boy recliner from Martin Furniture, Trip for Two from Cook Travel, and a Scooter from Cupi’s Motor Mall. Daily giveaways for the 1st 500 daily attendees will include on Friday – batteries, Saturday – auto air fresheners, and Sunday – custom flashlight key chains. Also on Sunday, the American Red Cross will sponsor a Central Illinois Auto Show Blood Drive on April 1st from 11am-4pm. All presenting donors will receive an American Red Cross T-shirt.
