The nominees for this year's 28th Annual Stellar Awards were announced early fall according to holyculture.net. Mary Mary leads the pack with 9 nominations, followed by Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago, who received 8 nods.Marvin Sapp & Fred Hammond each received 6 nominations, while the legendary Andraé Crouch and gospel favorite Isaac Carree each landed 5 nominations.

Kurt Carr will be honored this year with the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award, while Bishop TD Jakes will receive the Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award, and Gospel Trailblazer the late Inez Andrews will be honoured the Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones Legends Award.

This year's annual awards show will be hosted by Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary and will take place at  Grand Ole Opry House on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Nashville, TN. Performers already slated to appear include Tamela Mann, Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago, Israel Houghton, Le’Andria Johnson, Tye Tribbett, Marvin Sapp, and Fred Hammond.
