I always think about the animated series “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” whenever this upcoming festival comes to town.

As the fall season is approaching, what other way to say so long to the summer and start off welcoming the fall with the Morton Pumpkin Festival.

The festivities start on today and will continue on through Saturday night in Morton, IL.

The 46th Annual Morton Pumpkin Festival is here again; this year’s theme is “Love, Peace, and Pumpkins.”

All Day: Window Displays (Downtown Morton)
All Day: Art & Photography Shows (Morton Public Library)
4pm-8pm: Pumpkin Business Expo open; Pumpkin Store open
4pm: Carnival & Midway opens
4pm-9:30pm: Pumpkin Sweet Shoppe Open
4:30pm-9pm: Pumpkin Grille open
5pm-5:15pm: Official Opening Ceremony (Main Stage)
5:15pm-6:15pm: MHS Madrigals, Chorale, BumBums (Main Stage)
6:30pm-7:15pm: Pumpkin Princess Pageant (Main Stage)
7:15pm-7:30pm: Pumpkin Decorating/Pin Search Winners announced (Main Stage)
7:30pm-8pm: Miss Morton Talent performances (Main Stage)
8pm-9pm: Midnight Special (Main Stage)
