CVS Pharmacy has started selling cannabis-based products in eight states.

According to WEEK-TV and WGEM-TV, the products will be available in about 800 stores in eight states, including Illinois.

The other states are Alabama, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, and Tennessee.

CVS has partnered with cannabis manufacturers to carry a line of products infused with cannabidiol (CBD), including creams, sprays, roll-ons, lotions, and salves.

CVS officials said the company will not sell any CBD containing supplements or food additives.

The food and drug administration has not approved the use of CBD in food or beverages.
