HyVee is partnering with local first responders and Hormel to give away thousands of hams across the Midwest this holiday season.

In central Illinois, the former Kroger store on the south side of Peoria will be giving away free hams this Saturday, December 15th.

According to WEEK-TV, the promotion is designed to give hams to families that may not be able to otherwise afford a nice holiday dinner.

They’ll be handed out over a two-hour period, on a first-come-first-served basis. Once all the hams are gone, they’re gone.

However, one local family will also win an entire holiday dinner from Hy-Vee.
